The Thai authorities have raided the infamous Tiger Temple in Thailand and what they found has shocked us to the core. This could be happening at other venues too. Take the pledge to stop the horror.

We already know using tigers for entertainment is cruel. But allegations of illegal trafficking have led the authorities to a discovery more grisly than we ever imagined.
The bodies of 40 baby tiger cubs were hidden in a freezer at the Tiger Temple, while 30 more were found in glass jars. Over a thousand trinkets containing tiger parts, as well as several tiger skins were also found. Tiger parts are valued highly in the black market and trading in them is illegal in Thailand and internationally.
It is both painful and shocking to see such horror and brutality. Often unaware of this barbarism, tourists visit such venues which offer close interaction with tigers during their holidays.
As tourists we are unwittingly contributing to this industry by visiting these attractions. Take the pledge not to visit places which use tigers for entertainment.
At World Animal Protection we often refer to the ‘hidden cruelty’ behind wildlife entertainment. Even we are shocked at just how awful the hidden cruelty can be. We urge the Government of India to investigate all animal entertainment venues within India to ensure such cruel practices are not being followed in our country.
